The Greenworks Promise

In a world of diminishing resources, we provide our clients with sustainable and environmentally friendly building materials and industrial waste recycling services. We see beauty and possibility in historic mills and buildings slated for demolition.

In our view, adhering to a responsible cause is one of the foremost business models to successfully guide companies well into the 21st century.

About Antique Wood

For every piece of wood that is reclaimed, that is less pressure on current growing forest resources. We pride ourselves on bringing excellent quality materials back into service and extending the life of this resource. Unlike our current forest resources, this antique wood is not a renewable resource, as the quality of this wood is not being replaced, as new forestlands are not being allowed to mature beyond a certain age and size. Few trees today will yield the size and quality beams that these older mills were built with.

All Projects

Mt. Vernon Mill

We are currently deconstructing portions of Mount Vernon Mill.  The Mount Vernon Mill structure is a large complex on the banks of the Tallapoosa River in Tallassee, AL.

The buildings on this property were built in a similar fashion to Springs Mill that was recently deconstructed by KMAC, including the 10" columns and large timbers and flooring beams. The exception is that these buildings have walls of granite blocks rather than brick. KMAC has experience with this type of deconstruction and will take extra care in bringing these beams and timbers down and preserving this heritage wood. "The wood contained in these timbers promises to be excellent quality and has a rich history," Bob Klinner of KMAC Services said recently. "With our experience with this type of material, we will know how to bring this building down with minimal damage to the wood, making as much as possible available for flooring and beam projects."
